Andrew Lerman, MS, LAC, NCC
I believe that the relationship between a therapist and client is the most important factor of therapy and I work to establish a partnership early on. Being vulnerable takes a lot of courage, so I try my best to create a non-judgmental space where clients can give themselves permission to comfortably share their stories.
Andrew Lerman is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in NJ with experience working with adolescent and adult clients across various settings, including partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, and private practice. Operating from the perspective that people are the experts of their own lives, Andrew supports clients to feel empowered and fulfilled in their process of personal growth.
He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in both Psychology and Creative Writing from Brooklyn College and went on to earn his Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Monmouth University. With experience working in both individual and group capacities, Andrew has worked with clients presenting with concerns related to depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship conflicts, self-esteem, grief/loss, and dual disorders.
In practice, Andrew incorporates person centered, cognitive behavioral, and compassion focused approaches to help meet the individual needs of clients and collaboratively address goals.
