Dr. Albaliz Tello is a multilingual and bicultural licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with 10+ years’ experience in supporting individuals from a diverse background. She is a graduate of New York University. After receiving her Master’s degree in Social Work, she received her Ed.D. from Fordham University.
Dr. Tello has worked as a school social worker on a Child Study Team and is knowledgeable in navigating the special education system. She brings this experience when supporting families and advocating for children with special needs, which include but are not limited to ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disabilities, and social emotional challenges. She collaborates with school districts in developing action plans, 504 plans, and IEPs. She formerly served as the Director of Career Development and an adjunct professor at the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service. Dr. Tello also has expertise in addressing academic stressors, college preparation, and career/professional development.
Dr. Tello has worked both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, and has experience providing in home services to children and families. Dr. Tello specializes in working with clients with anxiety, panic attacks, depression, OCD, trauma, and separation or divorce challenges. She maintains an affirming stance for and has experience working with individuals who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community. Dr. Tello utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness, art, play, and solution-focused interventions to provide individual and family therapy.
