Shannon Hensel, LAC, is a licensed associate counselor (LAC) in New Jersey who works with adolescents and adults of all backgrounds. She has experience working in private practice in Baltimore County, providing counseling to individuals and couples.
Shannon utilizes a variety of modalities in her work, including person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, emotionally focused therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. She maintains cultural sensitivity and is passionate about working with individuals who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Shannon obtained her Master of Science in Clinical Professional Counseling and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology both from Loyola University Maryland. She previously worked in a children’s hospital assisting individuals diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. She also formerly facilitated psychoeducational groups teaching acceptance and commitment therapy while at Loyola.
Shannon prioritizes providing unconditional positive regard and personalized experiences for each client. She strives to create a non-judgmental and safe space for individuals to feel comfortable and supported.
