I am a caring and empathetic psychotherapist. My style of therapy is interactive, compassionate, and at times directive. My goal is to help you heal the past and move forward in your life with clarity, confidence & hope.
Matthew Brooks is a licensed social worker who works with adults and teens navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, life transitions, and relationship challenges. He offers a supportive, down-to-earth space where clients can talk openly, gain a better understanding of themselves, and build more satisfying lives.
Matthew brings more than 25 years of executive experience in the nonprofit sector into his clinical work, along with a deep understanding of pressure, responsibility, and the complexity of everyday life. This perspective informs a therapy style that is collaborative, practical, and focused on helping clients make meaningful, sustainable changes.
Matthew’s approach is collaborative and strength-based. He works with clients to better understand their patterns, build useful tools, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence. Rather than focusing only on problems, he helps clients recognize what is already working and build from there.
He has particular experience supporting men around stress, identity, relationships, and emotional expression, and welcomes clients from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.
Matthew’s style is thoughtful, engaged, and approachable. He aims to help clients feel more grounded, gain perspective, and move forward in ways that feel both realistic and manageable.
Outside of his work, Matthew is passionate about the performing arts, and enjoys golf, reading nonfiction, and spending time with his wife and young son.
