Kanan Kapila LSW

Kanan Kapila LSW strives to provide a wise, compassionate, welcoming, and culturally conscious space where therapy can help cultivate our capacity for meaningful life, career, and relationship experiences. Psychotherapy brings awareness to emotions in relation to thoughts, amplifying our ability to respond with kind inquiry and authenticity in our actions.

Kanan Kapila has an integrative orientation toward Psychotherapy centered on Cognitive-Behavioral, Somatic Therapy, Clinical Hypnotherapy, and Mindfulness modalities. Therapy gives us insight into the patterns that our personalities form, including behaviors and beliefs about ourselves and others, shaped by our pasts and early experiences. Kanan helps clients generate growth and live a more vital, fulfilled life that balances work, play, love, and service.

Kanan’s scope of practice is with teens and adults going through life transitions, relationship challenges, grief, and loss. Kanan has extensive experience in anxiety, depression, crisis, trauma, and prenatal care. She also works with creatives. Kanan utilizes a focused, practical, solution-based approach to guiding clients through their healing and self-realization. Kanan speaks fluent Hindi and Gujarati. She regards it an immense honor to support the client’s life path.

Outside of the practice, Kanan is an experienced, registered Yoga and Meditation teacher and leads teacher training. She enjoys time with her family and friends, her rescue dog, spiritual studies, and living a healthy wellness lifestyle. Kanan is on a nonprofit advisory board that advocates and provides jobs and education for women and children on the outskirts of India.
